What you can expect

This is a conversation, not a formal lecture and not an attempt to give one ‘Chinese answer’ to every topic. Your host shares personal experience and local context, and can explain how perspectives differ by generation, city, family background and lifestyle. You are welcome to compare what you see in China with your own country and follow the subjects that become most interesting.

Being in Chengdu gives the conversation a real setting. If it helps, your host can take a short walk nearby and point to everyday examples - housing, shops, public space, family routines or digital habits - so abstract questions become easier to understand. Or you can simply stay comfortable over a drink and keep talking.

Bring a list of questions or arrive with none at all. The goal is to leave with a more nuanced picture of the country and a few useful local recommendations for the rest of your trip. Respectful curiosity is welcome, while your host can always decline questions that feel too private or uncomfortable.

Make it yours

This is your private Chengdu experience, so the route can have a little breathing room. After booking, tell your host what matters most to you — whether that is food, photography, history, architecture, everyday life or simply a slower pace. Small changes to timing, emphasis and optional stops are welcome when practical, while the core experience and any pre-booked tickets or arrangements stay in place.

Exact minor stops can change with opening hours and local operations, but the core experience described above remains the same.
